Building waterproofing works in Geneva

An undetected water infiltration can compromise a building’s structure within months: degradation of insulation, corrosion of reinforcement, appearance of mould, loss of energy performance. Waterproofing is the first line of defence of the building envelope. As part of our all-trades works, we carry out all waterproofing services for new constructions and renovations in the Canton of Geneva.

Each intervention starts with a precise diagnosis: visual inspection, identification of water penetration points, analysis of the condition of existing membranes and evaluation of specific constraints (hydraulic pressure, weather exposure, greenery). On this basis, we recommend the most suitable and most durable solution.

Our building waterproofing services:

• Flat roofs and terraces: installation of bituminous or synthetic membranes (TPO, EPDM, PVC), welded or bonded, with watertight upstands, rainwater drainage and treatment of specific points (chimneys, skylights, parapets).
• Green roofs: implementation of anti-root waterproofing systems, drainage layers and substrates, for extensive or intensive roofs compliant with SIA standards.
• Inverted roofing: system where thermal insulation is placed above the membrane, for better mechanical protection and extended waterproofing lifespan.
• Facades and substructures: treatment against rising damp and capillary moisture, water-repellent renders, perimeter protection membranes for buried walls.
• Underground parking and buried structures: waterproofing under hydraulic pressure, tanking and high-resistance membranes for structures exposed to groundwater or runoff water.
• Liquid waterproofing: sprayed or roller-applied resins for complex areas, details and irregular surfaces hardly treatable with prefabricated membranes.
• Repair and maintenance: leak diagnosis, partial or total refurbishment of existing systems, drainage cleaning and preventive checks to extend the lifespan of the works.

Waterproofing is not installed in isolation: it fits into a precise sequence with thermal insulation, structural work and facade or roofing finishes. We coordinate each intervention with the other trades to ensure the continuity of protection and avoid any costly rework after the structure is closed.
