Fire protection insulation and sealing in Geneva
Enhanced safety, lasting reliability, optimal fire protection
Strengthen your fire protection insulation and sealing
A safety barrier
Every cable, duct or pipe passage through a fire-rated wall or floor creates a breach in the building’s fire protection. If these penetrations are not properly sealed, fire and smoke spread from one compartment to another within minutes. As part of our all-trades works, we carry out all fire protection insulation and sealing services for residential, commercial and office buildings in the Canton of Geneva.
Our specialised teams work in compliance with AEAI directives (Association of Cantonal Fire Insurance Establishments) and the SIA 183 standard, which govern fire protection in Switzerland. Each intervention is documented and validated on the basis of European Technical Assessments (ETA) to ensure traceability and acceptance during inspections.
Our fire protection insulation and sealing services:
- Sealing of technical penetrations: sealing of electrical cable, ventilation duct, piping and conduit passages through fire-rated walls and floors, using certified products (intumescent sealants, fire-rated mortars, composite panels).
- Fire-rated collars and wraps: devices fitted around combustible pipes (PVC, PE) to ensure automatic sealing in the event of fire through intumescent expansion.
- Fire-rated joints: treatment of expansion joints and connections between curtain walls and floors with fire-resistant sealants or flexible strips.
- Intumescent foam: injection into openings, technical ducts and construction voids to restore the fire resistance of penetrated compartments.
- Fire doors and dampers: supply and installation of certified fire door sets and ventilation dampers, with adjustment of door closers and verification of tightness.
- Compliance upgrades: assessment of existing installations, identification of compartmentation defects and bringing up to AEAI and cantonal standards.
Fire protection insulation takes place at different stages of the site and requires close coordination with electricians, plumbers and HVAC installers. We schedule each intervention so that sealing is carried out after network installation and before the closure of suspended ceilings and linings, ensuring a compliant and verifiable result.
